AB 1250: Next Stop, Senate Appropriations on Aug. 21

July 27, 2017

While legislators are on summer break, the charge against AB 1250 continues full steam ahead. With each passing day, the CSAC-led “No on AB 1250” coalition grows louder and larger. The next target is Senate Appropriations Committee where the bill is scheduled to be heard on Monday, August 21.

In preparation, CSAC is calling on counties to crunch the numbers and estimate how much it would cost their county to comply with AB 1250. Information should be sent to Tracy Sullivan at tsullivan@counties.org and captured in letters to Senate Appropriations.

In addition to the many voices in opposition to AB 1250, media coverage is also helping keep up the momentum. This week, The Fresno Bee dubbed AB 1250 “one of the worst  legislative turkeys ever.”  The article ends with the following message: “There’s only one thing left to do with this turkey: Carve is up and toss it in the trash.”
