AB 85 County “True-Up” Payments Imminent

Nearly $180 million in repayments to some counties under AB 85 are set to go out this week. The Department of Finance has notified the State Controller’s Office to send lump sum payments out to AB 85 formula counties for diversions of 1991 Health Subaccount funding that occurred in 2013-14.  This is the first “true up” process under AB 85, and CSAC lobbied hard to ensure that any true up payments due to counties was sent in the form of a lump sum payment, rather than incorporated as a credit for current year AB 85 diversions. Counties due to receive these payments include:

  • Alameda              $4,707,297.12
  • Fresno                 $6,875,118.82
  • Kern                     $653,597.86
  • Los Angeles         $87,497,408.09
  • Merced                 $669,079.28
  • Monterey              $2,258,462.50
  • Orange                 $14,637,146.58
  • Riverside              $8,783,307.14
  • San Bernardino    $10,000,258.75
  • San Diego            $14,936,692.38
  • San Francisco      $16,688,673.55
  • San Joaquin         $3,905,177.80
  • Santa Cruz           $1,568,947.40
  • Tulare                   $2,415,839.00
  • Ventura                 $3,652,489.29
  • TOTAL                  $179,249,495.55
