Domestic Violence: Probation
AB 372 (Stone) – Sponsor
As Introduced January 9, 2017

Assembly Bill 372 by Assembly Member Mark Stone would require that the goal of the 52-week domestic violence batterer’s intervention program shall be to stop domestic violence through evidence-based or promising programs that reduce domestic violence recidivism rates. This bill is sponsored by CSAC, and supported by the Chief Probation Officers of California (CPOC) and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.

SB 222 (Hernandez) – Support
Introduced February 2, 2017

Senate Bill 222 by Senator Ed Hernandez would extend the suspension of Medi-Cal benefits for incarcerated individuals, regardless of the length of incarceration, who were previously enrolled in Medi-Cal until their release from county jail or state prison. This extension allows for prompt reinstatement of Medi-Cal benefits upon release and eliminates the need to reapply for coverage. This bill is sponsored by the County Welfare Directors Association (CWDA) and the Californians for Safety and Justice.
