CSAC’s Evidence-Based Programming Help Desk

Need assistance in learning about adult criminal justice programs? We are now operating our Technical Assistance Hub to include an evidence-based programming help desk. The help desk will provide ongoing assistance to counties in navigating and using the Results First Clearinghouse Database to answer questions about evidence-based programs in a variety of social policy areas like adult criminal justice, juvenile justice, adult behavioral health. We encourage counties to use it as a first step for information about what programs are proven to be effective. We’re available to assist you as you navigate that site.

BSCC Board September 22 Meeting Highlights

The Board of State and Community Corrections’ (BSCC) Board moved forward two statewide grant programs designed to steer offenders away from the criminal justice system during their September 22 board meeting. The grant programs are the AB 900 Phase II Financing for Adult Local Justice Facility grant awarded to Siskiyou County and the SB 1022 Financing for Adult Local Justice Facility grant awarded to Tulare County.

The BSCC Board also approved the establishment of four grant program Executive Steering Committees (ESC) to oversee RFP development for each grant. The ESC’s were approved for the below programs:

  1. The Senate Bill 844 Financing for Local Criminal Justice Facilities Grant.
  2. The Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion Program Grant.
  3. The California Gang Reduction, Intervention and Prevention (CalGRIP) Grant.
  4. The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant.
