Cannabis Workshop at CSAC Annual Meeting

November 9, 2017

The Social, Community and Public Health Impacts of Cannabis

Not all counties have legalized cannabis within their borders. However, the impact of state legalization will undoubtedly impact local governments across California. The Cannabis Working Group will host a workshop to examine impacts of cannabis legalization on county governments. Topics to be discussed include public health and public safety impacts, and the long-term implications of cannabis legalization.

Supervisor Luis Alejo of Monterey County is set to moderate the workshop. In addition, several other policy committees will be discussing the implications of cannabis legalization in respect to their policy areas ahead of the January 1 start day for the issuance of commercial cannabis permits by the state.
