Bureau of Justice Assistance Grant Opportunities

The federal Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) has announced two competitive grants funded by the Student, Teachers, and Officers Preventing (STOP) School Violence Act passed by Congress in 2018. The STOP School Violence program provides more than $50 million in grants to encourage states, local governments, schools and tribes to create partnerships to violence among youth through evidence-based programs. The two new grants offered by BJA grants would provide counties a unique opportunity to focus on innovative approaches to preventing school violence.

The BJA STOP School Violence Threat Assessment and Technology Program Competitive Grant will allow recipients to create or enhance threat assessment models, crisis intervention teams, and technology for reporting systems. Counties interested in applying for the competitive grant can review application guidelines on the BJA announcement.

The BJA STOP School Violence Prevention and Mental Health Training Program Competitive Grant will allow entities to provide training for students and school personnel on school violence prevention, and address school mental health concerns. Counties interested in applying for this competitive grant can review application guidelines on the BJA announcement.
