Local Government Cannabis Survey Released

November 2, 2017

CSAC Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources staff, working in partnership with the Bureau of Cannabis Control, helped develop and send out a cannabis ordinance survey tool for local governments to help ensure local control. A link to the survey was sent to CSAC’s Board of Directors and County Administrative Officers.

CSAC has been a strong advocate for a dual permitting system, requiring applicants to obtain a valid local permit prior to a permit being issued by the State, for all cannabis-related activity in California. The survey will help counties identify a point of contact for the Bureau to verify local ordinances and will gather information about current cannabis ordinances, including bans, existing in California’s counties and cities. The Bureau would like responses back by November 13.
