NACo Offers Evidence-Based Policy Making Webinar Series

The National Association of Counties (NACo) and The Pew Charitable Trusts are hosting a 3-part webinar series on Evidence-Based Policy Making. This series is designed to showcase strategies county leaders can use to create evidence-based practices and programs in their jurisdiction to better serve residents. Participants in the live webinars will have the chance to learn about and discuss various strategies on how county officials utilize evidence-based policymaking in their work.

 

Evidence-Based Policymaking Part 1: Identifying Effective Programs

The first webinar in the series was held earlier today and discussed strategies county leaders could use to create evidence-based practices and programs in their jurisdiction to better serve residents. This webinar highlighted strategies for program assessment, inventorying programs and navigating research clearinghouses to find existing evidence-based programs. Part 2: Using Evidence in Budgeting & Contracting

This webinar on January 10, 2019 will highlight strategies for how county officials can include evidence requirements in service provider contracts, request contracted service providers to demonstrate program effectiveness and use data and research to inform contract planning and budgeting. Part 3: Delivering Effective Programs & Monitoring Outcomes
