The Stepping Up Initiative has recently released a new two-page
resource document that gives an explanation of the Initiative
along with other facts about the progress of the initiative.
Stepping Up urges county leaders to convene teams of agency
decision makers and diverse stakeholders to develop a six-step
action plan to reduce the number of people with mental illnesses
in jails. By signing up for the initiative, participants will
receive notification about learning opportunities, peer-to-peer
exchanges, expert guidance, a toolkit of resources, and other
assistance to facilitate planning and implementation.
