San Diego County Chosen to Participate in Healthiest Cities and Counties Challenge

October 20, 2016

Earlier this month, San Diego County was selected to participate in the Healthiest Cities and Counties Challenge. San Diego County’s Live Well Communities program works to address several problems in historically underserved communities of southeast San Diego, including improving access to healthy foods, creating jobs, addressing crime, and increasing capacity for civic engagement and leadership. More information on the Live Well Communities program is available here. The Healthiest Cities and Counties Challenge is designed as a partnership between the Aetna Foundation, the American Public Health Association, and the National Association of Counties and administered by CEOs for Cities to empower small to mid-size U.S. cities and counties to create a positive health impact.
