Description:

The San Francisco Human Services Agency (SFHSA) is recruiting a Deputy Director to lead its Family and Children’s Services (FCS) Division. FCS’s goal is to protect children from abuse or neglect, promote well-being, and support permanency. There are 1,000+ children in the child welfare system in San Francisco. FCS has 406 staff positions, an annual budget of $143 million. The Deputy Director for FCS sets divisional priorities; directs efforts to improve program effectiveness; ensures compliance with Federal/State requirements; and represents the county in local state and national forums that influence child welfare policy.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Human Services, Public Administration or a closely related field;
AND
2. Six (6) years of increasingly responsible management experience in child welfare in a large human services or social services agency. The experience must include direct program development coupled with experience in budget preparation, program planning and evaluation, and supervision of professionals.
