Description:

The Contra Costa County Employees’ Retirement Association (CCCERA), located in Concord, CA, has an exceptional opportunity for an Accountant to perform a wide variety of professional accounting duties in the preparation, maintenance and review of CCCERA’s financial records and reports. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing journal vouchers and other financial documents; reconciling the general ledger to other fiscal systems such as subsidiary ledgers, fund control accounts and financial schedules; reviewing the work of staff performing technical and administrative support, including the processing of payroll; assisting in the preparation of financial reports; and performing other related duties as required.

Contra Costa County Employees’ Retirement Association is a contributory defined benefit pension plan covering the employees of the County of Contra Costa and other participating agencies. CCCERA employs approximately 56 staff, and is governed by a twelve member Board of Retirement.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, finance, accounting or a closely related field and 3 years of increasingly responsible professional accounting experience. Experience in a public agency and/or a retirement system is desirable.
