Description:

The Contra Costa County Employees’ Retirement Association (CCCERA), located in Concord, CA, has an exceptional opportunity for an Accounting Supervisor to plan, supervise and participate in the daily operations and activities of CCCERA’s Accounting Department. The incumbent will assist with the development and management of CCCERA’s financial transactions, record keeping, investment accounting and pension payroll processes; recommend and implement policies, procedures and practices; perform a variety of complex professional accounting duties, including the preparation of diverse financial statements and working with external auditors on accounting matters; and perform related duties as required. The Accounting Supervisor is the first line supervisor of the department performing higher level tasks and responding to staff requests for assistance on complex accounting related issues.

Contra Costa County Employees’ Retirement Association is a contributory defined benefit pension plan covering the employees of the County of Contra Costa and other participating agencies. CCCERA employs approximately 56 staff, and is governed by a twelve member Board of Retirement.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have the equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in Accounting, Finance or a related field and 3 years of experience in the CCCERA class of Accounting Specialist; or 2 years in the CCCERA class of Accountant; or 4 years of increasingly professional accounting experience, 1 of which must be in a supervisory capacity. Experience in a public agency and/or a retirement system is desirable.
