Description:

The Bear Valley Community Services District is currently recruiting for the position of Administrative Services Director. This department head position shall plan and direct operations related to municipal finance, human resources, risk management and information services.

Bear Valley Springs is a unique gate community located in the mountains of Kern County with miles of equestrian and hiking trails, wildlife and a rural atmosphere. District municipal services include: police and dispatch, water, wastewater, roads, drainage, solid waste, parks and recreation, and a contract postal unit.

This position affords the opportunity to influence District operations through projects including selection and implementation of new financial management software; updates to ordinance code and policies; and a reorganization that will include a comprehensive classification and compensation study. This will be a very active and challenging position with many opportunities to identify areas of improvement and implement best management practices.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have significant management experience. Minimum qualifications include seven years of experience in municipal financial management, administration, human resources, risk management, and/or information technology, with at least three years in an administrative, management, or supervisorial capacity.
