Description:

The Marin County Human Resources Department is conducting a recruitment for the position of Administrative Services Manager. There are two full-time vacancies, one in the Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk Department and one in the Community Development Agency.

As an integral member of the department management team, the Administrative Services Manager will be responsible for overseeing administrative, fiscal, technical and clerical support functions to include budget development, financial administration and reporting, revenue allocation and recovery, purchasing, contract and grants administration, management analysis, personnel and payroll administration, and automation and systems administration and program evaluation. In addition, the Administrative Services Manager will serve as the departmental representative to various committees and supervise a team of accounting and administrative support members.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in accounting and budgeting; strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; experience managing a budget in a public sector or governmental agency setting; experience with complex automated financial systems such as SAP; and a depth of supervisory experience that includes teambuilding, coaching, employee development and discipline. In addition, the ideal candidate will be customer-focused and have prior experience working with both internal and external clients and various vendors/consultants; independently seek opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement for the department; and will thrive working in a fast-paced, progressive organization.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience that would provide the knowledge and skills listed in the class specification. Typically, equivalent to graduation from a four year college or university with major coursework in business or public administration, accounting, economics or a field related to the work and three years of fiscal reporting, accounting, budgetary and related administrative support experience. Additional experience as outlined above may be substituted for the education on a year for year basis.
