$90,369.14 – $145,747.47 Annually

Description:

The TLMA Administrative Services Manager (TLMA ASM) will manage, through subordinate supervisors, the operations of the TLMA Planning Department. The incumbent will oversee complex planning cases, review and track deposit based fees for the Department, and present to the Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission. Competitive candidates will have knowledge of the Subdivision Map Act and County Ordinance 348. Additionally, the incumbent will have progressively responsible case management experience and substantial supervisory and presentation experience. The Department desires candidates with significant planning experience, strong supervisory skills, those that are politically savvy, and those that possess an American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), an American Institute of Architects (AIA), or an American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) professional certification.
 

Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration or other field closely related to the assignment.

Experience: Three years of experience in a managerial, supervisory, or administrative capacity, which involved accountability for the planning, organization, and implementation of programs and projects, including but not limited to, ongoing responsibility for programs related to administration, building and safety, public works, or planning activities.

Knowledge of: Building inspection, plan review, permit issuance, and land use enforcement; budgetary and personnel management; general and governmental accounting principles and standards; laws, regulations, ordinances, and codes affecting building construction, zoning, and land use; modern office practices, forms, and equipment, including the application of computer systems to accounting, budget, and other financial functions; principles of supervision and staff utilization.

Ability to: Analyze, interpret, and accurately review citations, public complaints and formal appeals; analyze organizational, administrative, and budgetary matters and recommend effective courses of action; establish and maintain effective working relationships; prepare comprehensive, clear, and concise reports and correspondence; speak effectively.
