Annual salary range is $124,467 – $151,320 DOQ

Description:

The Agricultural Commissioner/Sealer of Weights and Measures is a senior management position appointed by majority vote of the Napa County Board of Supervisors and serves a four year term.  The Napa County Agricultural Commissioner/Sealer of Weights and Measures and staff are responsible for the implementation of federal, state and local regulatory programs within Napa County. These programs are designed to protect people, the environment, equity in the marketplace and to promote agriculture within the county.  Napa County has a reputation as a premier wine-producing region, but, as history has shown, also has the climate and soils capable of producing many types of exceptional agricultural products.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is an experienced professional who is community minded and possesses the following:  extensive knowledge of the operations, services and activities of comprehensive agricultural and weights and measures programs; understanding of sustainability principles; expertise in interpersonal relations and communication; ability to build collaborative relationships with community partners, including vineyard owners, and other local business owners to facilitate compliance and understanding.   A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.  An advanced degree is desirable.
