Description:

This is a Department Head position that reports to the Board of Supervisors. Under administrative direction, the Agricultural Commissioner directs and manages the countywide programs of the County Agricultural Commissioner and County Sealer of Weights and Measurers; is responsible for proper enforcement of the pertinent laws and regulations of the California Food and Agricultural Code, the California Administrative Code, the California Business and Professions, and other applicable codes and laws; is responsible for Air Pollution regulation and Code Enforcement and responsible for Animal Control Enforcement.

Qualifications:

Broad and extensive experience in agricultural and weights and measures inspection and enforcement, including at least two years in a supervisory or management capacity. Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a major in biological or agricultural sciences, including courses in mathematics and physics.

Special Requirements: Possession of a valid license as a County Agricultural Commissioner and County Sealer of Weights and Measures issued by the State of California.
