Description:

Under the direction of the Board of Supervisors, plan, organize, control and direct Department operations, activities, programs and services to provide County-wide enforcement of laws, codes, regulations and other statutory and regulatory mandates applicable to Agriculture and Weights & Measures; coordinate and direct personnel, resources, budgets, divisions, communications and information to meet County-wide enforcement and regulatory needs, assure smooth and efficient Department activities, and provide agricultural, consumer protection and related services; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.

Qualifications:

Any combination equivalent to: bachelor’s degree in biology, agricultural science or a
related field supplemented by 80 hours of post-graduate course work in public administration and seven years experience in the agricultural biology field involving work with regulatory and enforcement activities including two years in an administrative capacity.

Possession of the five State licenses for County Agricultural Biologist and the three State licenses for Weights & Measures. Possession of both State of California Deputy Agricultural Commissioner and Deputy Sealer licenses. Possession of both County Sealer and Agricultural Commissioner license. Valid California driver’s license.
