The Riverside County Health System (RCHS) is comprised of the Riverside County Regional Medical Center (RCRMC) outpatient clinics and the Public Health Ambulatory Care Centers. Its mission is to: (1) provide high quality primary health care to residents of Riverside County through the most effective and efficient health care delivery system; (2) ensure patient satisfaction in order to remain competitive in this era of Health Care Reform; and (3) provide a permanent medical home for continuation of care, access to primary and specialty care and providers, for preventive health care needs to the residents of Riverside County.

RCHS utilizes specialty clinics including Family Care, Orthopedic Medicine, Woman’s Health and Family Planning, and a mobile clinic, which are strategically located throughout Riverside County to ensure access to primary and specialty care providers. RCHS currently operates 10 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) and 8 Ambulatory/Out-patient Clinics at RCRMC and employs approximately 400 staff members including physicians, family nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.

The Ambulatory Health Care System Administrator plans, organizes, and administers the operation of the County Ambulatory Health Care System and is responsible for the delivery of medical or ambulatory care services through the Chief of Medical Staff, Chief of Family Medicine, Integrated Systems, and ambulatory care clinics throughout Riverside County.

This class has been designated At-Will by the Board of Supervisors, in accordance with the provisions provided under Article 6, Section 601E (1) of the County Management Resolution and serves at the pleasure of the Board of Supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Five years of experience as an administrator in charge of a large ambulatory health care system or accredited acute care hospital of two-hundred-bed capacity or larger, or as assistant administrator of a three-hundred-bed or larger capacity hospital. Public administration experience preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in business, public health, hospital, or health care administration. (Four years of additional responsible hospital or ambulatory health care system administration experience may substitute for the Master’s degree.)
