Description:

The Risk Management Division of the Contra Costa County Administrator’s Office is inviting applications to recruit for an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Manager located in Martinez, CA. The ADA Manager is a senior-level management position who is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the activities of the County’s Disability Management program under the direction of the County Risk Manager.

The ADA Manager will regularly coordinate efforts with the County’s Workers’ Compensation Return to Work Coordinator for the evaluation and rehabilitation of industrially injured employees; counsel and advise County management and Contra Costa County employees on Federal and State disability laws and leaves of absence and County policies and provisions; and develop and establish rules, regulations guidelines and procedures designed to reduce liability issues; and performs related work as required.

Qualifications:

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.

Experience: The equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience in a public or private organization working in professional level personnel work involving disability management and reasonable accommodation and the use of the knowledge and abilities described in this specification.

Substitution: Four (4) years of additional experience of the type noted above may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree requirement.

2. Application Evaluation: Depending on the number of applications received, an Application Evaluation Board may be convened to evaluate and select the best-qualified candidates for invitation to the next phase of the examination.

3. Oral Interview: An oral interview will be conducted by a Qualifications Appraisal Board in Martinez, CA. The Board will evaluate candidates in job-related areas. Candidates must receive a rating of at least 70 from a majority of the Board members to be ranked on the employment list. (Weighted 100%)
