The work involves appraisal of a variety of personal and real property for taxation purposes. Initially incumbents work under close supervision while learning the skills to become state certified. Once certification and the requisite experience is achieved, incumbents may advance to the II level in the series. At the Senior level, the most complex commercial and industrial appraisals are performed, or incumbents may provide specialist support within the office. This class series is further distinguished from the Auditor/Appraiser series in that the latter classes audit business’ financial records in addition to appraising business assets.
