Reports To: A. Picard, Assistant General Manager, Employee Relations
Days Off: Saturday and Sunday
Who May Apply: All current BART employees and qualified individuals who are not yet BART employees.
This position will be responsible for managing the daily activities and operations of the HR Department including workforce development and training, staffing and recruitment, classification, compensation, and employee services. This incumbent will focus on strategic human resource issues such as workforce development/succession planning, streamlining the recruitment process, and creating or updating HR policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Admin, Public Admin, Industrial Psychology or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience: 5 years of (full-time equivalent) verifiable professional HR experience which must have included at least 2 years of management and administrative experience.
Must possess a valid California driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Additional professional experience as outlined above may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis. A college degree is preferred.
