$10,179 to $15,791 Monthly

Description:

The Assistant City Manager is a newly created position and a member of the City Manager’s Executive Management team. The person hired for the position will assist the City Manager in planning, organizing, and directing the services and activities of City departments and programs to relieve the City Manager of the day-to-day operational issues associated with the overall functions of the City. The Assistant City Manager will also develop new policies and processes in consultation with the City Manager and participate in the development of City goals, objectives, policies, and priorities that incorporate community input and the City Council’s goals. The Assistant City Manager will also provide leadership to Department Directors and Managers while overseeing and directing a variety of special projects, facilitating project activities and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

The required background for this position includes a combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to be successful as the Assistant City Manager. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would include a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, or a related field, plus ten years management experience as an Assistant City Manager or Department Director, or similar executive level management position.
