Under the general direction of the County Administrative Officer/Finance Director, the Assistant CAO to Budget and Finance performs comprehensive management responsibilities to carry out Board of Supervisors policies and procedures for County financial operations and other delegated areas of responsibility. The work involves formulating, coordinating, and directing all aspects of County financial planning and administration including development of comprehensive short- and long-range budgets.

This position will oversee audit, payroll, accounts payable, and the Auditor property tax division. The successful candidate will enjoy working closely with a strong team, be open to exploring many sides of an issue, demonstrate a customer service approach to interactions with other departments, and be a strong supervisor with solid mentoring skills. Ideal candidates are assured, yet open minded; enjoy working closely with a team of strong staff members; and have experience presenting to a Board of Supervisors.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field and six years of increasingly responsible experience performing management, budget, finance, and accounting work including two years of supervisory experience over a financial or administrative office is required. A current CPA license is highly desirable.
