With headquarters in the City of Santa Barbara, General Services delivers an array of support services to the other County Departments, including: capital improvement; facility management (including energy management); financial and administration services; information technology; public safety radio communications; purchasing, mail service and surplus property; real estate services; and vehicle operations.
The County will be hiring two Assistant Directors. The Assistant Director is “at-will” and reports to the Director of General Services. This position will oversee a variety of projects and manage several programs that include any of the functional areas in General Services. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who has the vision to maximize the potential of the Department and capitalize on opportunities to help share the culture of an organization. The County seeks an individual who is innovative and creative, a critical and strategic thinker, who is comfortable addressing sensitive and challenging issues.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role and responsibility, and a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline are required.
