The incumbent will work collaboratively as a key member of the administrative team to determine policy, develop programs, and formulate operational objectives in accordance with State statutes and consistent with County ordinances, policies, and procedural guidelines; plans, directs, and administers various Public Health programs, activities, and staff. In addition, the Assistant Public Health Director acts on behalf of the Public Health Director in his or her absence.

Qualifications:

The position requires five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience* in a public health, managed care, medical health care, or related setting, which includes at least three (3) years of management and supervisory experience; equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in business administration, public administration, nursing, health science, behavioral science or a closely related field. *A Master’s degree with major coursework in public health, health science, behavioral science, psychology, sociology, nursing, public or business administration, or a closely related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required, non-supervisory experience.

**Also required is the ability to pass a LiveScan/Background check.
