Description:

The Risk Management Division of the Contra Costa County Administrator’s Office is inviting applications for an excellent opportunity for the Assistant Risk Manager in the Financial Services program area. The Assistant Risk Manager-Financial Services is a senior-level management position responsible for managing and overseeing various financial service programs and functions at the departmental level, including the County Internal Service Funds utilized to fund the, Crime Bond, Cyber Liability, General Liability, Auto Liability, Property, Workers’ Compensation and Medical Malpractice, and various other County agencies and Programs.

The Risk Management Division of the County Administrator’s Office is responsible for the County’s self-insured and self-administered programs for workers’ compensation, liability, property, workplace safety, and placement of our excess insurance. The Risk Management Division is also responsible for the general overall training of County employees.

Qualifications:

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business, or public administration, economics, financial management or closely related field
Experience: Three (3) years of full-time professional-level experience in independently performing complex financial planning or analysis, budget development and processing, contract review, administration and analysis
Desirable Experience: Five (5) years of full-time experience of the type noted above in a public entity or similar organization is highly desirable.
Substitution for Education: Additional professional-level experience of the type noted above may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two (2) years.
Substitution for Experience: Possession of a Master’s degree in business, or public administration, economics, financial management or closely related field may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
