Salary:

$5702 – $6931/monthly, plus an excellent benefits package, including a CalPERS 2.7% @ 55 Retirement Benefit formula. *This position may be subject to a Furlough Program which will result in a reduction of the advertised salary.

The Madera County Treasurer and Tax Collectors collects all reasonable and necessary taxes approved by the County Board of Supervisors. Taxes are consistent with State of California Tax Law and Constitutional Article 13(a). The most common types are secured, unsecured and supplemental property taxes. In addition, the Treasurer/Tax Collectors office receives Transient Occupancy Taxes (hotel and motel), business improvement district taxes, prepares and collects business license fees and conducts an annual sale of property deemed to be in tax default of five (5) or more years.

Qualifications:

Five (5) years of increasingly responsible financial and account record keeping experience including two (2) years of supervisory experience preferably working with the functions and operations of a County Tax Collector-Treasurer’s Office and equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, public administration, business administration, or a related field.
