Description:

The County Counsels’ Association of California seeks a part-time Associate Counsel.* 

The position would assist the Association’s Executive Director with the duties of the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) Litigation Coordination Program, including drafting amicus briefs, preparing monthly case law updates, reviewing amicus requests, and coordinating with outside counsel on court filings.  The position may also assist with other functions of the Association, such as reviewing legislation impacting counties and updating Association publications.

* Contract employment does not include medical benefits, retirement benefits, vacation or sick leave benefits.  It is an hourly position, and this employee will serve at the will of the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be a member of the State Bar of California.  Knowledge of public law, and strong writing and communication skills are desirable.  Hours and work schedule are flexible.
