Description:

The incumbent performs the most difficult, complex and responsible legal work in the representation of minors involved in Superior Court juvenile proceedings pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code Sections 300 et seq and 600 et seq. The incumbent may administer the activities of the Child Advocacy Division including supervision of other attorneys and/or legal staff

Qualifications:

LEVEL III
Experience: Three years of experience practicing as a licensed attorney including a minimum of one year of intensive experience in representing parties to WIC 300 and/or 600 proceedings; OR one year of experience as an Attorney II in Kings County.

LEVEL IV
Experience: Two years of experience equivalent to an Attorney III – Child Advocacy with Kings County, OR; Three years of experience as a licensed attorney in California representing parties to WIC 300 and 600 proceedings and including demonstrated expertise in one or more specialized areas of law pertaining to child advocacy matters.

BOTH LEVELS
Education: Possession of active, valid membership in the California State Bar is evidence of sufficient education for this classification.

License: Possession of a valid California driver’s license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles
