The Purchasing Department is recruiting for a Buyer II to negotiate and purchase vehicles, equipment, parts, supplies, and services for the Fleet Management Department (Fleet). This position will research pricing trends, inventory management options, products, and suppliers; review proposals and bids; negotiate, develop, and amend contracts; review and process requisitions, contracts, and other documents in the electronic procurement system; and assist Fleet in the development of bids specifications for vehicles, equipment, parts, and supplies.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience researching vendor sources and purchasing supplies, equipment and services; OR one (1) year of experience as described above in a centralized purchasing department.
Education: An associate’s degree in business or public administration, economics, accounting, finance or a closely related field.
An equivalent combination of qualifying experience and education may be considered.
