The Parks Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Capital Projects Manager. The Parks Department manages historic sites, urban parks, beaches and forests and strives to provide the highest quality experience for our visitors.

Under general direction from the Park Director and project direction from the Assistant Parks Director, the County of San Mateo is looking for someone who is team-oriented, loves the outdoors and wants to serve the community. This job includes building, renovating and enhancing facilities in some of the most beautiful locations in San Mateo County. The Capital Projects Manager will be an integral member of the team providing recreational opportunities that will stand the test of time, and provides an opportunity to work on the projects that are fun, challenging and directly serve the community, including campgrounds, trails, historic structures, roadways and utility systems.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a closely related field and five years of experience as a project/construction manager of medium to large capital projects for a local, state, or federal agency, general contractor, or developer.
