Description:

Lake County is seeking a Chief Building Official who desire a professionally challenging and rewarding career opportunity. The county is facing many exciting prospects including a 16,000 acre four and five star resort project, the rebuilding of over 1,500 homes lost in five disastrous wildfires, and the implementation of new permitting software. Lake County is the home of California largest and the nation’s oldest freshwater lake, Clear Lake. It is renowned for its natural beauty, fine wines and pears, and recreational opportunities. Lake County is an affordable place to live. For June 2017, the median sales price of a home was $253,500 compared to the statewide median sales price of $555,150.

Qualifications:

At least five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in construction-related inspection and/or design review and at least two (2) years supervisory or management experience.

Special Requirements:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid California Driver’s License.

Possession of, or ability to obtain, CABO or ICC Certification as a Building Official within twelve (12) months of appointment.
