Description:
THE POSITION
The primary responsibility of this position is the management of
the DGS Fleet Services Division. This includes providing
leadership and direc-tion to approximately 70 staff. The
incumbent is responsible for over 4,300 vehicles and equipment
with an operating budget of over $65M. This position is
responsible for leadership and overall management of Vehicle
Acquisitions, Maintenance Operations, and Fuel Management. The
incumbent establishes and executes a strategic plan with
actionable goals, communicates specific expectations, offers
training and ensures adequate resources are available for staff
throughout Fleet Services Division as well as working in close
collaboration with other County de-partments, contracting and
legal teammates in the development of policies and procedures
regarding client service, contracting, and vendor selection. The
incumbent is expected to interact effectively with
vendors/contractors as well as with Government officials,
internal client depart-ments and individual members of the public
and develop strategies that ensure continuity of Fleet
operations, develop staff’s technical knowledge, expanding Green
fleet initiatives, and maintaining environmental compliance.

demonstrate the following lead-ership competencies, attributes
and experience:
· A degree in Business Administration/Management or related field
and/or NAFA Fleet Management Association certification is highly
de-sirable
· Extensive managerial experience in a large fleet organization
including the development of policies and procedures, contract
administra-tion, and operation management
· Situational leadership and management of multidisciplinary
teams including teambuilding, coaching/mentoring direct reports
and/or teammates, stakeholders, consultants, and contractors
· Commitment to improving performance and client service
· Able to promote diversity and inclusion in a multicultural
environment
· Experience in contract negotiation and administration
· Anticipate consequences and trends accurately; applies
knowledge appropriately to achieve overall objectives
· Strong consensus-building skills while developing and
maintaining long-term relationships
· Stimulating and actively initiating organizational change
