Description:

The Chief Deputy Auditor-Controller is the highest level in the Accountant series; duties include primary responsibility for management & coordination of major areas of financial function in the County Auditor-Controller Department.

Under general direction, plan, organize, coordinate, & manage the general accounting, payroll, accounts payable, budget control, property tax, internal audit & cost functions of the Auditor-Controller’s office; oversee preparation of the County’s Annual Financial Report; perform highly complex & sensitive accounting work including the design, implementation & control of financial automated systems as it pertains to Department; acts on behalf of the supervisor or Department Director as requested.

Qualifications:

Experience:
Four (4) years of progressively responsible professional experience in accounting, auditing or related financial work, preferably including experience in work with financial requirements and systems of a public agency. Two (2) years of this experience must have been performing duties comparable to those of Supervising Accountant or Supervising Auditor in Merced County.

Education:
Graduation from an accredited university or college with a four year degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Public Administration, Finance, or other closely related field.
