Chief Deputy County Counsel is second-in-command of the County Counsel’s office.  This executive management level position will assist with the overall administration and management of the department, assign and direct the work of subordinate personnel, may act for the County Counsel during periods of absence and may carry a workload that involves complex and sensitive transactions, legal cases or issues.


Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited school of law and five years professional experience as an attorney in the practice of civil or administrative law in the State of California in a governmental law office (such as county counsel or city attorney) or a private law office which primarily practices civil or administrative law for the public sector which has included at least one year of lead, supervisory or management experience. Must be an active member (in good standing) in the State Bar of California.
