Annualized salary range $180,932 to $232,152 with hiring DOQ

Description:

With a population of 1.8 million, Santa Clara County (San Jose, CA) is the sixth largest county in California and the largest of the nine Bay Area counties, with about one fourth of the Bay Area’s total population. VHP is a State licensed health plan owned and operated by the County of Santa Clara, and is the County Health Maintenance Organization. VHP currently manages about 135,000 lives across several product lines, including Medi-Cal Managed Care, commercial plans for public sector employees, and individual insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act health insurance exchange. The VHP FY2015 recommended operating budget is almost $344 million with 110 employees. The CEO reports to the County Executive through the Deputy County Executive responsible for the Santa Clara Valley Health & Hospital System.

Qualifications:

Requires the equivalent of a relevant bachelor’s degree (master’s degree highly desirable) and 5-7 years of substantial managed care program or related experience where recent management responsibility and financial accountability was held, preferably in a managed care delivery system or operation integrated inpatient and clinical system program dealing with at least some of the following coverage and insurance products: Uninsured, Medicaid, Commercial and Medicare. Previous experience with managing operations over a large geographic area with a wide variety of providers, including a large public teaching hospital, is preferred.
