Description:

The Chief Information Officer provides strategic guidance and advice to departments and agencies within the County of Los Angeles, with a focus on improving overall service delivery using cutting edge technology to the greatest extent possible.

Reflecting direction from the Board of Supervisors, the Chief Information Officer is accountable for addressing Countywide systems requirements, as well as the service needs of County departments through coordinating and preparing long range strategic information technology planning, participating and developing County-private sector partnerships, and promoting Countywide efforts to introduce new technology.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have accomplishments in managing a large and complex information systems program for a diverse multi-service public or private sector organization. The individual will have had a leadership role in the planning, design, development, and implementation of information technology systems. Of equal importance, the individual selected must have demonstrated success in understanding the appropriate role of technology, communicating that role and applications to senior leaders, peers, and the entire organization.
