$160,862.03 – $243,477.97 Annually

Description:

The Chief Information Officer serves as an internal consultant to County of Los Angeles departments and agencies on information technology, and how best to leverage it. The CIO also facilitates technology improvements by identifying priorities, then developing strategies required to fully implement them.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have accomplishments in managing a large and complex information systems program for a diverse multi-service public or private sector organization. The individual will have had a leadership role in the planning, design, development, and implementation of information technology systems. Of equal importance, the individual selected must have demonstrated success in understanding the appropriate role of technology, communicating that role and applications to senior leaders, peers, and the entire organization.
Desirable qualifications include:
· A Master’s degree or equivalent professional education in information technology or computer science.
· Demonstrated success working with public officials, industry representatives, civic groups, and technical experts.
· Strategic responsibility for outsourcing decisions, financing of large-scale technology projects, and an understanding of development resources required to develop and maintain complex technology systems.
· Successful experience in long range systems planning and need forecasting in a large, complex environment.
· Proficiency in communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, capable of ensuring that all parties understand needs, costs, and solutions.
· State-of-the-art knowledge of information security practices and technology.
