Description:

Located in northern California, Contra Costa County covers approximately 733 square miles extending from the northeastern shore of San Francisco Bay east to San Joaquin County.

Under general administrative direction, the Chief Information Officer oversees the operations of the Department of Information Technology including establishing and implementing the information technology strategic plan for the county involving all computing data, software, systems operations and data communications. Also, as construction on the new administration building breaks in January 2018, the CIO will play an integral role in planning the IT initiatives from the ground up and be able to implement new technologies.

Requires a bachelor’s (master’s preferred) in computer information systems, public administration, business administration or closely related field and five years full time experience in information systems which include three years of senior management and administrative responsibility for information services in a medium to large county, city, special district, State or Federal operations, or in a large, geographically-dispersed, unionized organization.
