Salary:

Annualized salary $183,000 to $197,000 with hiring DOQ, plus an excellent and competitive benefits package. 

Description:

Orange County (population 3.1 million) is the third largest county in California and one of the largest in the U.S., and has over 17,000 employees.  The Information Technology (IT) Department is part of the Office of the County Executive Officer (CEO) and it is a “solutions” organization – they solve problems and enable their clients to provide excellent service to their constituents. The Department has a budget of $80 million and manages about 200 contracts valued at over $305 million (e.g., for call and data centers), and there are 80 FTE staff positions. The Department is in the process of implementing a new CISCO virtual server environment, as well as shifting to a centralized County environment which includes 25 agencies/departments. The CIO reports directly to the CEO. 

Qualifications:

Desire a relevant bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree is preferred. Should have at least 15 years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise application systems project management in the context of designing and managing complex, large-scale enterprise service oriented infrastructure. The past five years of experience should have been serving in an executive level position in IT. Should have extensive experience in the design and implementation of business process improvements, IT budgeting, and resource management. Having comparable experience overseeing contracts of a significant magnitude would be a plus. Candidates from both the public and private sectors will be considered, as well as those from all geographic areas.
