$224,216 – $339,369 Annual Salary

Description:

The County is searching for an individual who brings a forward thinking approach to forensic medicine and the executive acumen to lead one of the nation’s largest death investigation agencies. The new Chief Medical Examiner-Coroner will have the capacity to engage staff in a variety of disciplines — medical, investigative, and analytical — in order to meet the County’s forensic death investigation requirements. The individual selected needs to take a bold and creative approach in managing resources, and engaging County leadership to meet current and future needs.

Qualifications:

Valid certificates issued by the American Board of Pathology in:
Anatomic and Clinical Pathology or Anatomic Pathology
Forensic Pathology
Possession of a valid Physician’s and Surgeon’s Certificate issued by the Medical Board of the State of California.
Appointees are required to obtain a Coroner Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certificate.
U.S. Citizenship is required for appointment to this position.
