$113,916 to $138,456

Description:

The Chief Probation Officer oversees a staff of 135 allocated positions and a current budget of $15.8 million. Members of the Chief Probation Officer’s Executive Team include an Assistant Chief, Superintendent of the Juvenile Detention Facility, Adult Division Manager, Juvenile Division Manager, and Fiscal Administration Officer. The Yolo County Probation Department has enjoyed success in implementing evidence-based programs in the juvenile division, and has also seen significant reductions in recidivism rates, reduction in levels of custody needed and a dramatic decline in out-of-home placements.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and seven years of increasingly responsible probation/parole experience (including three years in a management or supervisory capacity in a criminal justice agency) required; Board of Corrections Certificates for Deputy Probation Officer, Supervisory and Manager Core Training, and evidence of continued compliance with annual training requirements also required.
