Salary:

$104,582-$127,171. 3% wage increase effective 9/9/18.

Description:

Mendocino County’s exquisite physical beauty provides a unique setting in which to work, live, and play. Appointed by and reporting to the presiding Judge of the Mendocino County Superior Court, the Chief Probation Officer is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and directing County Probation services. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, experienced probation professional with an extensive background in probation and a commitment to evidence-based practices. He/She will have superior planning, budgeting, managerial, communication and problem solving skills.

Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution in criminal justice, behavioral science, or a related field; a minimum of five (5) years of responsible probation and corrections experience; and at least two (2) years of management-level experience involving the evaluation, administration, management and control of varied types of probation programs, including staff supervision. Related experience may be substituted for the education.
