Description:

Hennepin County’s Human Services and Public Health Department (HSPHD) is seeking a Child Well-Being Director who will develop the strategic vision and oversee the alignment of youth and family services across the county with a goal towards early identification of needs and services, better integration, and a coordinated approach for positive outcomes for children, youth, and families. This position reports to the Deputy County Administrator for Health and Human Services. 

Qualifications:

Best Qualified Candidates will have:

  • One of the following:
    • Master’s degree or higher in behavioral or social science, business administration, nursing, public administration, public health, or related field and five or more years of management or administrative experience in a large organization.
    • Bachelor’s degree in one of the above fields and seven or more years of management or administrative experience in a large organization.
    • An approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience:
    • In the area of child welfare, child well-being, and/or child protection is preferred.
    • Managing significant staff numbers and budgetary responsibility.
    • As a leader, working across lines of authority.
  • Ability to:
    • Plan, organize, coordinate, and supervise a large and diversified organization.
    • Collaborate, inspire, and implement action.
    • Identify strategies that demonstrate the business case for diversity.
