Description:

We are looking for a hands-on administrator to develop, direct and administer the activities and operations of a small city Finance Division, including accounting, accounts payable and receivable, auditing, budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, business licenses, cashier/collections, purchasing, and utility billing. The work is performed under the direction of the City Manager, with considerable latitude for decision-making and independent judgement. 

Qualifications:

Considerable expertise operating a public finance department with minimal employees and working with outside auditors is highly desirable.
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; and
Experience: Five years or more of responsible public financial administration experience, with considerable experience working with outside auditors.
