Portola is seeking a dynamic, engaging City Manager. The successful candidate will be an experienced professional with demonstrated capability of managing a small city. Desirable qualifications include extensive experience with economic development and public relations, ability to communicate effectively, ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with government officials, community groups, contractors, and City staff, and experience with Federal and California State regulations.
A Bachelor’s Degree in public administration or related field is required (Master’s Degree preferred) and five years of successful, responsible management experience in municipal government (experience in California preferred). Equivalent combinations of education and applicable professional work experience will be considered. Demonstrated record of accomplishment in city management and a history of stable employment in the government field are essential attributes.
