Description:

The City of Emeryville, California, (pop. 12,000), utilizes the Council/Manager form of government, and is a full-service city with 152 FTEs and has an operating budget of approximately $40 million. City departments include Police, Community Services, Community Development, Public Works, City Attorney, Finance, Human Resources, City Clerk, and the Office of the City Manager. Serving at the pleasure of the City Council, the City Manager is the administrative head of the city and is responsible to the City Council for the efficient and effective administration of all of the affairs of the city which are under his or her control.

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration and a minimum of five years of municipal management experience is required. A master’s degree in Business or Public Administration and experience in planning, personnel, engineering/public works and finance, as well as practical experience in preparation of reports, budgets, contract administration and the scheduling of projects is highly desired.
