Description:

The County of San Diego is currently seeking qualified applicants for Civil Engineer for the Building Division and the Land Development Division in Planning & Development Services.

Civil Engineers in the Building Division perform plan check review of privately initiated residential or commercial buildings, including new construction and alterations. Incumbents verify that the calculations are accurately represented on construction drawings and review all aspects of plans based on use and occupancy. Incumbents also work with customers as they make the necessary corrections to plans to comply with all applicable building codes.

Civil Engineers in the Land Development Division work in conjunction with PDS planning staff as well as other County departments and divisions. Incumbents are the leads in the review of discretionary projects and the technical studies associated with them; and are also the leads in the review of grading plans and road improvement plans and the associated technical studies.

Qualifications:

Possession of a current registration by the State of California as a Professional Engineer.
